I've noticed that my two year old daughter has quite the creative side.. Ok I know all two year olds have a creative side. Anywho.. She's been coloring with her crayons and chalk since before she was one. She made this wonderful master piece on the walls with chalk a few months ago.. Luckily it was chalk and wiped right off. She went after a window with an orange crayon as well.. That one is not as easy to clean and I must admit is still a beautiful master piece. Mainly because I haven't been able to scrub it off yet. Those were the only two times she has displayed her artistic side where she wasn't suppose too. Oh wait.. there was one more in the stairwell. Just a simple purple line and every time we walked past it she would say "look crayon".
She usually just colors on the back of used paper or just clear white paper.
She stole my notebook and did this to the cover.
Here's another...
Recently she's been making circles.. but I don't have pictures of those. She just draw 3-4 circle shapes in different colors.
Sometimes She'll color in her coloring books. I'm surprised at how she'll actually try and color inside the lines.
I was at the store tonight buying my son school supplies and I decided to get her some water color paints. A little scared at the mess they might make but decided that I should fuel her creative side. We laid down some newspaper and my son tried to show her how to use them. Of course she doesn't like it when her big brother tries to help her.. I put a little water in each color.. gave her the brush and let her go to town. I told her to use the brush to paint and she looks at me and says "brush?" then uses her finger like a toothbrush.. I said "no" then she just started painting.. (BTW she loves to brush her teeth.. She'll brush them 3-4 times a day)
OK so anyway I wanted to share the painting she made today.
Here is another.

She is great with composition and color choice she really is a budding artist!
childrens art always looks so cool
Awwe, how cute! People are so much more free with their art when they hold the innocence of being a child. If she keeps practicing she will do great things ;)
Hi Glitterstar! It's Pam Plumley from DIY Scene, or msplumuniq or
Grandma's Pillows Plus! Your daughter's art work is sooo cute! I love saving my daughter's work too-she's 8.
Have fun,
Pam
i'm glad i stumbled upon this.. my boy is 1 1/2 and has recently started asking to color a lot.. it's so much fun to see what they make! he also made his first fingerpainting recently (i didnt even bother with a brush, but probably will next time) followed promptly with a bath. anyway.. beautiful stuff she's doing.. any good ideas for the display of such wonderful creations??
The fridge of course! Sometimes I'll just tape them right up on the wall. I'd like to frame a few, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. :)
i've run out of room on the fridge! i think i'll have to move onto the walls. something along these (http://www.shopwithlove.net/ee/index.php?/love/calendarDetail/jan_eleni_collage/) lines-as seen on black*eiffel-might be good.. and surely there's a good diy version for those that dont have $$$ (such as myself)
My 3 are in their double digits and I STILL have their fist art like this. You will acumulate piles over the years, but these first ones are priceless.
Kids are artists without fear or boundaries...bravo!
wonderful post!
